I believe firmly that some images have a transcendent, metaphysical function when they are used in the right context: Images can make a distantant feeling tangible, bring a long forgotten memory back or trigger a new horizon in one’s outlook.

Using images in combination with text and design, this transcendent effect is amplified, like when used as a book cover. Often this experience is not what the image shows, it lies more in how it is shown.

To enable the freedom to see images and experience them, I have a selection of different images that have inspired me, moved me to either make them by planning them in production, or seeing the moment and using my presence, the light and world around me to create a work most resembling reality.
